Washington State tenants have won important legal protections, but these rights don't go far enough. Help build the movement to protect and expand tenants rights and make the promise of safe, healthy, affordable housing a reality: 
The recent shut-down notices received by residents of Seattle’s Greenlake Motel have raised many questions of when someone living in a motel is considered a tenant or not. Generally, residence in a hotel or motel is exempted from state Residential Landlord-Tenant Act coverage. There may be some situations, however, in which tenants living in hotels or motels are covered by state or local landlord-tenant laws. If you live in a hotel or motel and want information about what the law says, make sure to call the Tenants Union’s hotline at (206) 723-0500 on Mondays and Wednesday 3:00-6:00 pm or Thursdays from 12:00-4:00 pm or call Solid Ground at (206) 694-6767 on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 10:30am – 4:30pm.
