Support the Tenants Union!
Washington State tenants have won important legal protections, but these rights don't go far enough. Members help build the movement to protect and expand tenants rights and make the promise of safe, healthy, affordable housing a reality.
Rally for Rent Control THIS Wednesday 2/27
Please join us in Olympia this Wednesday 2/27 for RENT CONTROL DAY!
Tenants from all over Washington State are coming together to take over the Capitol Steps and demand the common sense policy we need for community stability. Will you be there to RALLY FOR RENT CONTROL!?
Things to know:
Address and schedule of events are in the flyer below! We’ll have coffee, snacks, and free t-shirts (while they last!) when you arrive to register from 12:30-2pm. We will also have a video station for you to tell your stories. After the 2-3pm rally we will have a tenant gathering with tamales and music until 5:30pm.
To offer or ask for a ride please use the carpool post pinned to the top of our event page here.
Wednesday is going to be a cold one! Current forecasts say party sunny and 40 degrees. We’ll warm you up with coffee before the rally and tamales after, but please dress for the cold and bring layers – the weather could change and we’ll be outside for about one hour!
Parking can be a challenge around the capitol! Please allow enough time and scope out the signs carefully. More information available here.
- The Labor Council is ADA accessible with a ramp at the front entrance and an elevator to the 2nd floor conference room.
- The Capitol Steps are just under a half mile from the Labor Council, about half of that is uphill. We will have a car making rounds from the Labor Council to the steps for folks unable to walk that distance.
- We will have ASL, Spanish, and English interpretation at the Rally.
- If you have other accessibility needs/requests please email [email protected]
