Resolution to strengthen and protect the human rights of immigrants to the United States

On March 16, 2006, the TU Board of Directors passed a formal resolution which resolves “to work with our membership, other organizations, governmental entities and the general public to protect the human rights of immigrants to the United States.”

Tenants Rally for Section 8 in Downtown Seattle and Across the Country

On Tuesday, August 3rd, 350 people—including Section 8 tenants, elected officials, and leaders of housing authorities, community organizations, and religious groups—gathered outside the Federal Building to challenge our elected officials to preserve funding for the Section 8 housing program.

In Memory: Vern Zuehlsdorff

On Friday, July 23rd the Tenants’ Union lost a dedicated member and leader. Vern Zuehlsdorff was tirelessly committed organizing with other low-income tenants for secure, safe and healthy housing. He passed away at age 67 from an infection. He will be missed by tenants and activists worldwide who had the privilege of working with him.
